Supporting local families with their household budget pressures, like cutting the fuel excise in half, saving you 22 cents per litre for six months. We’re also making a one-off $250 payment to 14,483 local pensioners and carers and increasing their regular payments. And we’re providing ongoing funding for preschools and making childcare more affordable, benefiting more than 7,430 local families.
Our economic recovery plan lowers taxes for families and small business and invests in skills, infrastructure and manufacturing. Around 70,300 local low and middle income earners will receive up to $1,500 in further tax relief this year, including a $420 tax offset. And our tax incentives will allow around 16,600 local businesses to write-off the full value of any eligible asset they purchase.
We’re investing in fixing local roads to save lives and reduce travel times. Local projects include, a program of major Bruce Highway upgrades, improvements to Mount Nebo Road, the Drapers Crossing Bridge Replacement, Moreton Bay Rail Link, and Dakabin Train Station car park. We’ve also jointly committed $1.8 billion to the SEQ City Deal.
Investing in better services and a stronger Medicare by delivering more than 549,000 local Telehealth consultations since 2020. We’re investing record funding in aged care to help the 19,161 seniors living locally. We’ve funded $35 million in works for Moreton Bay Regional University Precinct, we’re upgrading the Patricks Road State School Hall, and have built the new Lawnton State School Multi-purpose Hall, Public school funding will increase by over 30% to 2029.
I’m proud that we’re investing in our local communities, with better facilities, public spaces and a healthy environment that families can enjoy. Local projects include the new Samford Parklands Community Hub, PCYC Arana facility extensions, The Hills All Abilities Playground, Albany Creek Crushers Rugby League Club upgrades and the Pine Rivers CWA airconditioning installation.
