Supporting local families with their household budget pressures, like cutting the fuel excise in half, saving you 22 cents per litre for six months. The LNP Government is making a one-off $250 payment to 19,870 local pensioners and carers and increasing their regular payments. And we’re making childcare affordable for local families.
Our economic recovery plan lowers taxes for families and small business and invests in skills, infrastructure and manufacturing. Around 72,600 local low and middle income earners will receive up to $1,500 in further tax relief this year, including a $420 Cost of Living tax offset. Our investment in extra skills and training will lead to more opportunities and expanded wage subsidies for the 1,910 apprentices locally, and our tax incentives will enable around 13,500 local businesses to write-off the full value of any eligible asset they purchase.
The LNP Government is investing in fixing local roads to save lives and reduce travel times. Key local projects include, major upgrades to the Cunningham Highway and the Mount Crosby Road interchange on the Warrego Highway. Investing in D’Aguilar Highway upgrades from Yarraman to Caboolture and investigating options for a future rail line between Ipswich and Springfield via Ripley. We’re also investing in upgrading local bridges under the Bridges Renewal Program.
Investing in better services and a stronger Medicare by delivering more than 678,000 local Telehealth consultations since 2020. The LNP Government is funding more than 2.4 million free or subsidised medicines locally each year. We’re investing record funding in aged care to help the 21,243 seniors living locally and public school funding will increase by over 30% to 2029.
I’m proud that we’re investing in our local communities, with better facilities and public spaces that families can enjoy now and into the future like the $8.9 million Convention and Emergency Evacuation Centre and funding the $11 million Willowbank Raceway Upgrade. And LNP policies have supported the installation of 34,600 rooftop solar panels locally.
Our Plan is Building a Strong Economy for a Stronger Future
Creating more, better paid jobs.
Backing your hard work with lower taxes.
Investing in roads, public transport and renewables.
Making record investments in health and aged care.
Investing in stronger defence to make Australia safer.
