Supporting local families with their household budget pressures, like cutting the fuel excise in half, saving you 22 cents per litre for six months. We’re also making a one-off $250 payment to 21,611 local pensioners and carers and increasing their regular payments. And making childcare more affordable, benefiting more than 6,940 families in Bowman.
Our economic recovery plan lowers taxes for families and small
business and invests in skills, infrastructure and manufacturing. Around 66,300 local low and middle income earners will receive up to $1,500 tax relief this year, including a $420 tax offset. Our investment in extra skills and training will create more opportunities and our tax incentives will allow around 17,000 local businesses to write-off the full value of any eligible asset they purchase.
We’re investing in fixing local roads to save lives, reduce traffic and shorten travel times. This includes upgrades for Panorama Drive and Wellington Street to duplicate sections and improve intersections, road safety upgrades for Beenleigh-Redland Bay Road and sealing gravel roads on our Southern Moreton Bay Islands.
Investing in better services and a stronger Medicare by delivering more than 552,000 telehealth consultations. We’re funding more than 2.2 million free or subsidised medicines locally and investing record funding in aged care to help the 26,192 seniors living locally. We’re funding redevelopment projects at Redland Hospital and boosting funding for public schools by over 30% to 2029.
I’m proud that we’re investing in our local communities, with better facilities and public spaces and a healthy environment that families can enjoy now and into the future, like Redlands Coast Islands Festival infrastructure and the “Championing Redlands Coast” initiative. Our policies have supported the installation of over 33,700 rooftop solar panels locally.
Our Plan is Building a Strong Economy for a Stronger Future
Creating more, better paid jobs.
Delivering tax relief for workers and small businesses.
Investing in local roads and better public transport.
Making record investments in health and aged care.
Investing in stronger defence to make Australia safer.
