Supporting local families with their household budget pressures, like cutting the fuel excise in half, saving you 22.1 cents per litre for six months. We’re also making a one-off $250 payment to 22,962 local pensioners and carers and increasing their regular payments. And we’re making childcare more affordable, benefiting more than 8,790 local families.
Our economic plan lowers taxes for families and small business and invests in skills, infrastructure and manufacturing. Around 74,300 local low and middle income earners will receive up to $1,500 in further tax relief this year, including a $420 tax offset. And our tax incentives will allow around 16,100 local businesses to write-off the full value of any eligible asset they purchase.
We’re investing in fixing local roads to save lives and reduce travel times. Major local projects include upgrades to the Gateway Motorway and Bruce Highway, major road improvements at Bracken Ridge, the planned Beams Road Upgrade at Carseldine, and the Moreton Bay Rail Link. We’ve also jointly committed $1.8 billion for the SEQ City Deal.
Investing in better services and a stronger Medicare by delivering more than 593,000 Telehealth consultations. We’re investing record funding in aged care to help the 27,618 seniors living locally and we’ve funded the AEIOU Autism Hub and Intensive Care Unit at Redcliffe Hospital. Funding for public schools will increase by over 30% to 2029 and we’ve committed $3 million to the Mango Hill State School Multi-purpose Hall.
I’m proud that we’re investing in our local communities, with better facilities, public spaces and a healthy environment that families can enjoy now and into the future, local projects include the Redcliffe Dolphins Stadium, and upgrades to Aspley Hornets Field and Facility, PCYC Redcliffe and Deception Bay, Redcliffe Tennis Court, Redcliffe Community Men’s Shed, and the Deception Bay Running Track.
