Supporting local families with their household budget pressures, like cutting the fuel excise in half, saving you 22 cents per litre for six months. We’re also making a one-off $250 payment to 19,749 local pensioners and carers and increasing their regular payments. We’re providing on going funding for preschool and making childcare affordable.
Our plan lowers taxes for families and small business and invests in skills, infrastructure and manufacturing. Around 63,800 local low and middle income earners will receive up to $1,500 in further tax relief this year, including a $420 tax offset. And our tax incentives will allow around 19,600 local businesses to write-off the full value of any eligible asset they purchase.
We’re investing in fixing local roads to save lives and reduce travel times. Local projects include major upgrades to the Warrego Highway and safety upgrades at the Brimblecombe Road Intersection. We’ve also committed $60 million for road upgrades from Toowoomba to Ipswich and an additional $375 million for further Warrego Highway works and upgrades on the Gore Highway.
Investing in better services and a stronger Medicare and delivering more than 430,000 local Telehealth consultations since 2020. We’re investing record funding in aged care to help the 25,508 seniors living in Groom. We’ve delivered $9 million for upgrading the Blue Care Toowoomba residential aged care facility and established the $18 million Swartz Barracks Health Centre. While public school funding will also increase by more than 30% to 2029.
I’m proud that we’re investing in our local communities, with better facilities, public spaces that families can enjoy now and into the future like the Toowoomba Railway Parklands, Great Divide Mountain Bike Destination, and the Soldiers’ Memorial Hall upgrade. The LNP’s policies have supported the installation of 22,200 rooftop solar panels locally.
